Animal Career Fair

Are you interested in a career with animals but aren't sure what is available or how to get into the field? Ventura Pet Wellness & Dog Training Center will be hosting an Animal Career Fair where you can meet animal professionals from different fields and ask questions about their career




Behavior Seminar - 4 hour behavior education

This 4 hour seminar will be held on Sunday, October 15th  2017 with your instructor Shannon Coyner RVT, CPDT-KA, KPA CTP. Please email shannonvpw@gmail.com with each persons information that will be attending this seminar. Please include their full name, email and phone number. No dogs at seminar, please.

​Seminar Fee: If signing up with a group of 4 the seminar fee will be $35 for each person attending. If you are signing up with a group of 5 or more the seminar fee will be $35 for the first 4 attendees then the price will be reduced to $25 for any additional attendees in the group. If you are not in a group and are signing up for only yourself the seminar fee will be $35.

Behavior Seminar Schedule: 

8:00 am - 10:00 am: "Understanding Canine Body Language" Seminar

Tail wagging doesn’t always mean “happy.” Learn to identify signs of anxiety versus playfulness as you open new lines of communication with your dog. 

10:00 am - 10:30 am: BREAK

10:30 am - 12:30 pm: "Understanding and Preventing Separation Anxiety" Seminar
Does your dog bark or whine when you are gone? Does your dog destroy things or have potty “accidents” when you leave the house? If so your dog may be experiencing separation anxiety! Preventing separation anxiety is much easier than trying to fix it! If your dog is experiencing this or if you think your dog may become anxious when you are away, come to this seminar to learn how you can help your dog! 

What to bring:

Please wear layered clothing as the center could be a bit cold in the morning. 
Feel free to bring coffee or snacks for the 30 minute break. No dogs at this seminar, please. 



"Understanding and Helping Your Reactive Dog" Seminar

When- Saturday, December 9th 2017
From- 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This seminar will teach you why your dog may respond the way he does and ways that you can help your dog become less reactive. No dogs at this seminar, please. 



"How to Have a Well Behaved Dog" Seminar

When- January 27th, 2018
From- 10 am - 12 pm
Instructor- Shannon Coyner RVT, CPDT-KA, KPA CTP
Fee- $20

There are many theories on how to train a dog. Shannon will give you the most straight forward, simple techniques that can help you teach your dog almost anything. 



Pet First Aid and CPR

When- March 3rd, 2018
From- 9 am - 1 pm
Instructor- Shannon Coyner RVT, CDTP-KA, KPA CTP
Fee- $20

In an emergency knowing pet first aid can save your pets life. In this class you will learn first aid for wounds, heat stroke, broken bones and much more. You will also learn how to perform CPR on a variety of animals. 




"Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!" Seminar

Are you thinking of adding a puppy to your family or do you already have a puppy? Discover the importance of socialization and early training that will help your puppy become a great adult dog. You will also learn how to prevent problem behaviors from occurring.
